Terms of Service
Last updated August 12, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MathFlow (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
MathFlow provides online mathematics courses, interactive lessons, quizzes, exams, coding exercises, and guided Python projects. Features and content may change over time as we improve the product.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate account information
- You are responsible for activity under your account
- Keep your login credentials secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorized use
3. Subscriptions and trials
Paid access (“Pro”) is offered as a recurring subscription billed through Stripe. New Pro checkouts include a 3-day free trial unless we state otherwise at checkout. After the trial, your chosen plan (monthly or annual) renews automatically until you cancel.
Pricing, trial length, and included features are described on our Pricing page and may be updated. Changes generally apply on a going-forward basis.
Cancel anytime through the Stripe customer portal. If you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of the current paid period (or until the trial ends if you cancel during the trial). See Refunds & trial for payment and refund details.
4. License and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own learning. You may not:
- Share, resell, or publicly redistribute course materials or notebooks as a competing product
- Attempt to bypass paywalls, rate limits, or security controls
- Scrape the Service at scale or abuse grading / execution endpoints
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
- Reverse engineer the Service except where allowed by law
5. Intellectual property
MathFlow content, branding, software, and materials are owned by us or our licensors. Completing a course or project does not transfer ownership of our materials to you. Code you write in exercises remains yours; starter templates and lesson content remain ours.
6. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties such as Clerk (authentication) and Stripe (payments). Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free content, or any particular academic, career, or exam outcome. Learning results depend on your effort and many factors outside our control.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MathFlow and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us for Pro in the three months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or if required for security or legal reasons. Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
